Dr Om Murti Anil is a senior cardiologist of Nepal working at National Cardiac Centre,Kathmandu. He has done his super specialization degree ( DM Cardiology) from AIIMS, New Delhi. He is best known in country for his work in the field of cardiac intervention. He has contributed significantly for prevention of heart disease in Nepal by increasing  public awareness regarding cardiovascular diseases and its risk factors  through various activities.

Dr Om Murti Anil is one of the most popular cardiologist in Nepal in social media for his regular health tips and medical informations he provides through his facebook page www.facebook.com/drommurti . The largest research so far conducted in Nepal for detection of cardiovascular risk factors among  5500 healthy young individuals of Kathmandu in year 2014  is under his name. He is also author of a very popular and health informative book "Ma Pani Doctor" aimed to improve medical knowledge for common people.

Medical Career

After completing basic education from his own village, he achieved MBBS degree from College of Medical Sciences, Bharatpur (under scholarship) and MD Internal Medicine from Institute of Medicine (TUTH) and was awarded gold medal. He developed interest in Cardiology from 3rd year of his MBBS. He was one of the luckiest Nepalese doctors, who got admission for the course of DM in Cardiology at AIIMS, New Delhi. He was not only the first Nepalese, but also the first foreigner to join this superspeciality course (3 year) of this prime institution of Asia. Nepal Bidhyabhusan Padak

Dr Om received Nepal bidhyabhushan padak from Rt Hon`ble President Dr Ram Baran for achieving his DM Cardiology degree. He is the first doctor among DM cardiology degree holder, who has received this award.

Dr OM received gold medal for obtaining highest marks in MD medicine (Institute of Medicine, Tribhuvan University).
